About Me

Welcome to Head Inside Counselling – I’m Stacey, the founder and a qualified Counsellor and Psychotherapist based in the Lincoln area. I offer counselling sessions both locally and online across the UK.

My approach is integrative, grounded in a person-centred foundation. This means I see you as the expert in your own life. I won’t tell you what to do or offer quick fixes—instead, I provide a safe, non-judgemental space where you can explore your thoughts and emotions at your own pace.

While person-centred principles guide my work, I also draw on a range of therapeutic approaches including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), and Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT). This allows me to tailor our work together in a way that best supports your unique needs and goals.

My role is to walk alongside you—offering empathy, authenticity, and support—as you connect more deeply with yourself and uncover the insight and resilience you already hold within.

Benefits of Counselling

I can offer you time and space to work through your problems. Therapy can help you to gain a different perspective on problems and issues. Working with a therapist to explore thought and emotions can help you to make sense of why you are thinking and feeling a certain way. Through talking you will have the opportunity to reflect and process your feelings and thoughts at your own pace. Going through this process will help you to develop self-awareness and personal growth.

Head Inside Outside

Benefits of Walk and Talk Therapy

Walk and Talk therapy encourages physical activity which benefits both physical and mental health. It is a form of bilateral stimulation which is a repetitive movement which helps balance left and right brain activity. Being outside releases endorphins and is generally mood enhancing, it lowers blood pressure, boosts immunity, speeds up digestion and improves heart health. Mother nature has so much to offer us

Rewind Therapy

What is Rewind Therapy?

How does it work?

Rewind Therapy is a highly effective intervention used for those who experience PTSD. It is known as closure without disclosure. What this means is that you can overcome past trauma without having to disclose it to your therapist which can be re-traumatising for some clients. Rewind works by stopping involuntary recall which could manifest as nightmares, flashbacks, hallucinations and ruminations.

Rewind works by bringing your voluntary recall under control. It's like filing your memory away in a filing cabinet until you chose to open it. Studies show that rewind is more successful than EMDR and CBT and is often completed within 1 or 2 sessions. It can be used for:

Car accidents

Rape

Sexual assault

Medical trauma

Armed assaults

Burglary

Bullying

Natural disasters

Accidents

What is EFT?

Emotional freedom techniques also known as EFT or "tapping" involves gentle tapping of the fingertips on the skin. It is a form of psychological acupressure on the meridian points used in acupuncture without the invasive use of needles. It is a evidence based technique which is simple to use and can be used on a host of issues including anxiety, depression, OCD, PTSD, trauma, stress, addiction, tension headaches, insomnia, sports performance, frozen shoulder and pain including fibromyalgia, issues around food and limiting beliefs.  There are a number of demographics where the use of EFT has been studied including students for performance and exam stress, veterans, pain patients, athletes, chemotherapy patients and phobia sufferers. EFT has been found to me as or more effective as EMDR and CBT with many clients only needing four sessions. If you are experiencing any of these conditions EFT could be the tool for you.
